Hello fun in the Brook yesterday. Is this a lobster or a rock?  You help appreciated with my apologies for the photos ( iPhone 5)

Perhaps a little off topic but I found this rock on my 8th trip to Big Brook and have never seen anything silimlar. Any insights?  Above it is the modern deer jawbone also found

Yes, this does in fact appear to be the tail of end of a Hoploparia gabbi, which is a type of lobster that you can find in the Late Cretaceous deposits of NJ. Good job. The rock is probably coal.
