BonuFrailman
Good evening everyone, I saw this tooth on our favorite auction site and was wondering what you all think about the seller's baryonyx ID. I'm leaning more towards baryonyx because of the granular surface texture but I could easily be wrong. Let me know what you guys think. Basic Info: Found: Atherfield Isle of Wight UK Approx: 26mm x 8mm x 6mm
Troodon
The granular surface texture is one of several Characteristics that describe a Baryonyx tooth. The most diagnostic feature is the presence of denticles on the carina as seen on figure 1 on the attached photo. Hard to determine that with the photos provided The distribution of dental features in non-avian theropod dinosaurs: Taxonomic potential, degree of homoplasy, and major evolutionary trends. Troodon
Its denticles not serrations we are looking for. Looks more like edge damage to the left with a poor out of focus view toward the tip. I'm not willing to make that call without definitive evidence. Ask the seller to send you a picture showing denticles.

So I guess it's probably uncertain at this point whether or not it's croc or Baryonyx
