More Scottish fish fossils from Tillywhandland quarry.

I have been doing some more fossil hunting at Tillywhandland quarry and I have found a couple of nice fish fossils including a complete Mesacanthus mitchelli fossil. The fish has folded over it's self so it's head is pointing towards it's tail.

Here is rare fossil. It is spine and scales of a Climatius reticulatus. Fossils of these fish are rarer than complete Ischnacanthus gracillis. I would love to find a complete one.

Fantastic fish!

I hope you don't mind - I took the liberty of cropping and enhancing your photo:

Very Nice. I want to go there just to visit a place with such a weird name. Trying to imagine how it sounds in a Scottish accent....
