I found this - almost missed this - while sifting through some micro matrix today. I'm guessing some sort of fish tooth, but can anyone confirm? From Aurora Fossil Museum, Aurora, North Carolina. Lower to middle Miocene from the Pungo River Fm. It's so small that I have a hard time getting the camera to focus and my microscope cam just made it a big, black blob, so I apologize for the soft focus. That course rug it's sitting on is a piece of fine velvet!5ef39cce968c8_fishtooth1.thumb.jpg.a0cb4a8599b41453de53ee8de9df5e19.jpg

that's a pretty big thing at a fifth of an inch (roughly) or is the scale not mm?

It is in mm.

Roughly, I’d go with fish. However there’s some interesting stuff in that matrix. If possible, maybe some different angles could shed some light on the picture.
