Might this be a Dire wolf or sperm whale tooth? Sloth class or just a plain's rock ;)

This guy measures 4"L x ¾" and 1" crosswise on the thicker end, and ⅝" & ⅜" crosswise on the smaller end x 4 ½" around the girth on the thicker end x 1 ½" around the thinner tip.

Your find looks to be bone, and reminds me of that rib end which attaches to a marine mammal vertebrae. Sort of think whale, dolphin, manatee/dugong.
