3 D Fossil Plant Collection sharing

Good Morning Folks,

I am sharing some photos of my fossil plant collection.  The first photo is a branch from a Stigmaria heimans tree.  It's from Texas and (I believe) from Palo Pinto County.  It's in sandstone and is from the Carboniferous period.  I purchased this specimen over 20 years ago from an estate sale with very little information provided (Fossil from Texas).  My research provided the additional information.

Here is another Stigmaria, Carboniferous, from Kentucky.  It's quite long.

This is a partial Calamites in siltstone, Pennsylvanian, location not provided.  I did not remove the remaining matrix as I enjoy it as is.

And here is my most prized Calamites specimen.  It is a about 17 inches tall and includes part of the trunk and the frond head.  It also from the Carboniferous Period.  Location is the Mesa in western Colorado.  Hope you enjoy.....

LOL.  Thanks fossilcrazy.  Over 30 years of collecting in this small batch.  I will post my others (non-3D) later as soon as I get a chance.

Thank Adam.  I like um.  The first and last were very difficult to find.  I just kept looking and finally got lucky.

Very nice collection! I’m fond of modern plants, and that fondness bleeds over into fossil plants as well. Thanks for sharing!

Nice specimens. I love the first pictured one here. It almost looks like a prosthetic wooden arm!

LOL, it does kinda have that appearance....  It would be very difficult to wield this around though as it's very heavy.  Oh, I made a mistake with the length; it's actually 19 inches.
