dhiggi
Fairly slim pickings today but we picked these up and don’t see so many of them. Any ideas on the bivalve? Is the ammonite Pleuroceras Solare ? Thanks for looking
TqB
Nice shells. Distinguishing separate species is not something I'm good at with ammonites and Pleuroceras is tricky - try Andy's excellent blog, he'd be one of the best people to identify it. P. hawskerense is the classic one from there. https://andysfossils.com/2016/01/31/pleuroceras-the-other-amaltheid-ammonite/ The bivalve looks like Pholadomya ambigua (J. Sowerby) which would be from the same zone as the ammonite (Spinatum.) Edited July 5, 2020 by TqB 1 Tarquin
dhiggi
Thank you @TqB, my guess at the ammonite was merely based on a pyrite one in my daughter’s collection looking a bit similar.

Good enough for a genus anyway! Is your daughter's a German specimen? Tarquin
