Archaeotherium upper jaw section

Hello everyone! Prior to the lockdown and money getting tight I won this at an auction, and it finally arrived today.

What are your opinions and observations regarding its authenticity?
I was also wondering about the white areas that appear to flow seamlessly with the specimen- is this also a binding product?

It did say that it had restoration, and it’s clear that grey plaster/cement has been used, particularly at the front of the jaw where it appears to have previously broken.

Thanks in advance! E8AE8CC7-009F-4B13-9909-5F8460786593.thumb.jpeg.0a1925420c264ef18cdda0e27a09e561.jpegF17F6AB3-B486-4A89-8C9C-155B8E08F664.thumb.jpeg.77711dcd2ca31f56782964b131098730.jpeg980D93D6-CEC4-4D71-B4AA-4AD53CEBD800.thumb.jpeg.3424e50f0b3c742d74e2f01daa0ea801.jpeg45A1A09C-C67D-437F-B5BE-43558F5EE13B.thumb.jpeg.733bdd62e74973fd48cfbc3c5309bfd1.jpeg48A05312-7237-413B-A730-9CAAEBB9C470.thumb.jpeg.1baa454f3981ee4591fa770ff4f812d2.jpeg56AA79F1-0CD8-491B-BFF3-C8BE100EA32A.thumb.jpeg.28eabe19500183b30392f2c1d12aa359.jpeg36FDB068-E7B3-4FE5-84A5-94D0C14C79F1.thumb.jpeg.e3e5e244a5356082bbe0159da792a0c1.jpeg

@Troodon is the resident expert on these.   It will make a very nice display specimen.

Not my area of expertise @jpcmay be able to help

Looks like it was crudely reassembled with that grey material.  White deposit looks like chalk.

Hit it with a black light and it will show you all of the restorations that have been made on it.

Looks like some putty on the palate, but that is sometimes necessary.  Nice specimen.

Thanks everyone! I’m in the middle of moving at the moment but I’ll hit it with a black light when I get the chance. I appreciate all of your input.
