Rockwood Posted July 10, 2020 Share Posted July 10, 2020 It's likely that biological elements were involved in the creation of this substance. I doubt it can actually be called a fossil though. IMHO, I think the inclusions could have formed inside of a hollow burrow, such as Ophiomorpha. The remaining hollow space could then have filled with sediment, explaining the tannish colored matrix around the inclusion.
