MaximusTN
Please help identify this partial tooth found at Cherry Grove Beach in North Myrtle Beach, SC. This was originally passed off as a Squalicorax, but after further review, it seems heavier and the part of the root that is complete seems different. Teeth may be posterior. Thoughts? It's too big overall and the crown would be more slender toward the tip if it were a great white. Jess
Al Dente
Squalicorax pristodontus. I think his side view is at an angle that makes it look much thicker than it really is.

I keep going back and forth between a meg posterior tooth and a crow shark (Squalicorax) tooth. My initial impression was Squalicorax like Eric. sixgill pete
At least I am not the only person who flip flopped between squali and a meg posterior. Though I lean more towards the meg. Thanks guys. MaximusTN
Thanks all. Clearly, the other portion of this tooth would help. It’s definitely just enough different than my other squali’s that I had to ask.
