Saurornitholestes tooth position?

Howdy!

This is a dromaeosaur tooth from the upper Dinosaur Park Formation. I’m pretty sure it’s Saurornitholestes, but based on the size (1cm L) and shape, is it possible to tell the position in the mouth? (Ex maxilla, dentary, predentary?)

Not sure you are going to be able to distinguish between maxillary and dentary positions.  Do you have closeups of both sides of the tooth.

Thanks

Without serrations not sure it can be positively assigned to Saurornitholestes but looks like a lateral tooth.  Not Premaxillary

There are serrations, but because all the enamel is gone they are extremely faint. Here’s the best pic I got

Anything on the outer edge.

Barely anything, only a few even fainter serrations yet

Without clear serrations on both edges hard to put a positive assignment but a good chance urs one.

Edit: one of the characteristics of a Saurornitholestes tooth is that the very tip of the denticles point toward the tip on the distal edge.

Awesome. Is there way of telling exact position in mouth?

Also, is it possible it’s Troodontid? (I’m thinking unlikely because of the shape)
