Tully Monster (Tullimonstrum gregarium)

An interesting creature.

Photo 1 and 2 = positive/neg halves

Photo 3= detail eye like sensory organ at the end of bar stalk

Photo 4= denticle like surface on creature

Photo 5= texured morphology surface

hi plecan,

The annelid is definately another Didontogaster. The fish is a paleoniscoid but you will not be able to identify it to the species level because a lot of the diagnostic features are missing. The mazon creek paleoniscoids are in dire need of revision. Because of the generally small size they are a very difficult group to work with.

Thanks Steve... I enjoy collecting marine fauna of Mazon Creek Biota... a lot are unique only to Mazon Creek Lagerstten... lots of fun.

The concretions provide a wide into the past.... neat stuff. Regards, Peter.

Thanks Chris. Here is a rare 1cm long Acanthodes sp. (tenative ID) Fish concretion with giant eyes... notice thorn like denticles projecting at the belly converging towards the anterior portion .

I bought this fossil... seller says it is a blade ie fish... the more I look at it the less I think it is a blade.... I think it looks like a worm and not a fish as I do not see anything that resembles a fish.... thoughts anyone???

Fossil is 1 " long.

Here is a worm like creature from Mazon Creek fauna..... tentitive id = Astreptoscolex anasillosus or Coprinoscolex ellogimus.
