Darbi
At first I thought it might be the cross-section of petrified trunk but upon a closer inspection, I doubt it's petrified woods. It is not silicified. I wonder if it's a concretion or Liesegang rings? I don't think I have seen something like this in person before. I couldn't get it extracted because it's embedded in the bedrock.
Rockwood
I think it may have been a natural ground water vent (spring hole) in it's day.

abyssunder
Liesegang rings? I would say yes. Probably they are very weathered and chemically decomposed. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
