There are blocks of marl in the river and you have to go up and break them to find the fossils

With the high temperatures, it is a pleasure to search there

Wonderful preservation and particularly that crab is a very nice find. Looks like the things won't be difficult to prep either.

The shells are easy to prep because they are strong. It's a nightmare for the crabs. The carapace is like floor.

Very Nice.  I can see them being very difficult.  The photo you showed us in the field looked like the crab was ready to fall apart.

 

(By the way ... "floor" = flour).
