digit Posted August 15, 2020 Share Posted August 15, 2020 You can still tell your friends they are dinosaur teeth but you have to wink quite obviously. Though these might look like fossilized zippers they are as stated above cross sections through the stem of an echinoderm known as a crinoid (aka 'sea lily'). The individual sections of the stem are called 'columnals' and can have very interesting designs including 5-pointed stars.
