Hi all. I am sure this is an easy one for you but I would like20200815_220905.thumb.jpg.8f168313a994859a49ec7470853b8f8f.jpg to be sure, since my guess is only a guess!  I apologize that the only measuring tape I had was in inches, but i believe it is just under 35 mm.  Found in the green mill run. Near the tar river in Greenville NC USA20200815_220905.thumb.jpg.8f168313a994859a49ec7470853b8f8f.jpg Thank you!

I concur w/croc. Conical shape suggests.

Thanks! It is hard to see in the pictures but the tooth is smooth all around but there is a definite sharp ridge from the top to the base on the inside curve

I thought a round cavity was croc and an oval cavity was mosasaur ?

There are always exceptions to the rule. The curvature on this one is toward the carina, which is toward the rear of the mouth. That is typical of mosasaurs. Croc teeth will usually curve toward the center of the mouth.

Based on Al Dente's interesting fact, and what looks like an oval cavity, I am in the mosasaur camp.

Looks like a mosasaur to me - a very nice one.

Without a doubt one of the best mososaur teeth I have seen from Greens Mill Run. Congrats on a great find.
