timhigg
This item is 2 5/8 inches long, 5/8 inches wide and about 3/8 inches deep. It is hollow. Sorry, these photos aren't as good as the ones I was able to get of the deer teeth. It was sort of awkward for the equipment I have. It also came from a beach near Jensen Florida. Thanks for your help.

Harry Pristis
I dunno. Maybe a split is a section of rib bone. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
timhigg
Here are some more photos. The second photo shows the flatter side up with a slight indent. The other side is narrower. Viewed from either end and looking at a cross section, it has a slight tear drop shape. I broke it during the process, so there is now a photo of the inside of the two halves. When viewed from the narrow side, it does have a slight curve like a rib, but very slight. It reminded me somewhat of a sloth tooth. but longer and more narrow, and also hollowed out. I thought the ends didn't look like breaks, but could be. They are pretty straight. Sorry,, I couldn't get the duplicate photos out.
