FossilsandScience
Hey everyone, I found this rock, which looks like a chunk of petrified wood to me in Southern California. This piece was found a mile or less away from an area where I know petrified wood has been found. I'm not sure what the formation that I found it in is. Any response is appreciated. Thanks! Mark Kmiecik
Can we get a look at the edges, please? Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
Further
Not that I am at all an expert, by any means, but I do look at and pick up a ton of petrified wood here in Texas, and it certainly looks like a more weathered piece of what i commonly pick up(it is *everywhere* here). Slightly crystalized mineralization.
