6ix
First time back at the beach in a month or two.... was a little foggy. I've never seen a crab on the "turtleshell" rocks before, man I wish I could drag these back and put them in the garden. Help wanted - this bugger is HUGE... if you want it, I think we need a chopper or boat to extract it. Anytime out with the family is great! Pretty sure I've seen these in someone's youtube before!!
6ix
Okay - heres one I didnt share from that trip.... I was too excited and scared of getting it back. I know I'm no good at identifying "boney" stuff, but I was sure I knew what this was.. I was both excited and upset - because I was sure I knew what it was, and man its BIG. After getting home I sent a few emails and they all confirmed my suspicion. Its a DOLPHIN SKULL! A hasty plan was made, half a bottle of Jim Beam was consumed and I was committed to heading down the next day to retrieve it. Luckily with a bit if Bribing - tinbum also came and man, I couldnt have made it without him. Of course as soon as we got to the beach he found a crab as well.. It took a bit of detective work finding it again, its amazing how much one tide can change the beach, and even tho we were only looking in a 5 metre radius area, it took 10 minutes to re-find it as the surf had flipped all our markers over again as well! 4
6ix
Darn - I have more photos but even after resizing them it wont let me post any more.... You'll just have to use your imagination - that little trolley gets higher and higher up the hill and eventually to the top - along with two very exhausted guys. Thanks for the advice guys! More photos included now. Dragging it along the beach was the easiest bit - got the legs warmed up for what was to come.. Boy we were knackered just getting this far up the hill... Then up to the farm track... And finally up at the top. Not much to say really. It was a hard slog but we got there, now only the trip across the farm & back to the truck. 8

Sometimes I have to try refreshing the page after posting so many photos to be able to post more. That may fix your issue there. But man, wicked finds!

Just refresh the page or go to Home and back again like I do. That works every time for me. Then you can continue with photos again in a new post. My imagination works just fine, but sometimes it creates the wrong pictures, so I'd love to see the rest of your adventure in reality time.

Doctor Mud
oooohhhh look, a tooth. Didn’t notice that before. Amazing find man and epic recovery mission. Did you need the other half a bottle of bourbon afterwards A really fortunate split looks like it split just above the brain-case so underneath could be all the goodies, useful features for iding this beastie and placing it in context. looks sticky! Al has been mechanically prepping these, but I reckon acid prep is the way to go. woooo hooo!

6ix
I'm starting to wonder if I'm brave enough to have a nibble on it, I literally have to add heaps of reinforcement to my prep table to even think of holding it. Would it be okay if I just nibble around that tooth and wort my way out? I have a few "bone stones" that I have been working on and they are so unpredictable I dont enjoy breaking off layers.. Hard to explain, tell me to to post a photo..
