Could this be amber?

I found this on Charmouth beach (west) UK, last week on the shoreline. It weighs 57 grams. It has a dark appearance but glows orange when backlit by bright light. Any identification ideas would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Give it the salt water test. Dissolve 7 teaspoons of salt into a medium sized cup of water. Gently place this into the solution. If it’s amber it will float if it’s not it won’t. There’s also the hot needle test but personally I prefer the salt water test. It doesn’t do any damage to the specimen .

Amber is very light in weight. At 57 grams I'd expect it to be much larger. An agate or water tumbled melted glass or plastic on the other hand could weigh that much and be that size.

Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.
