Candelyn
I found this fossil as a child on my grandfather's ranch near Snowflake, AZ. Would love to have some help IDing it. Thank you!

Rockwood
I can see it being part of the hinge of an isognomon.
Candelyn
Thank you so much! So the little "feet" I saw are really the ridges found in the hinge of an ancient oyster shell!? And the part that looks like the little holes inside bone is some part of the shell?

The degree of certainty is low, but there is enough of a resemblance in my mind to include it as possible.
Candelyn
The part that looks like bone could be a broken oyster shell---And we're seeing the inside edge? Like a cross section. Or maybe it is just something totally unrelated that was nearby. Thanks for commenting. I'm going to post 3 more in a minute. My whole collection of fossils from my childhood. : ) But my 10 year-old grandson is very interested right now and I want to learn as much as I can to share with him. Thanks again!
