Brazos Fossil Finder
This piece was found on the Brazos River, it is very light. Looks like spongy rock. Is this coral?
Fossildude19
Looks like a piece of bone to me. Not sure anything more can be said about it. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." fossilus
If it was found in the lower Brazos, far more likely bone than coral. A few marine fossils survive to the lower Brazos but are generally quite worn. Also, it appears to be bone (cancellous as Rockwood mentioned) although the photos aren't super sharp.
