Ludwigia
I've been visiting the shark tooth site here in the Lake of Constance region quite regularly, since it makes for a nice bike ride to get there and it's also a relatively relaxing activity. I figured I could show you some of the things I've been finding over the last few weeks. Please feel free to revise my ids if they aren't correct. Physogaleus contortus. 18mm. Carcharhinus sp. 15mm. Carcharius acutissima. 16mm. Carcharias sp. 25mm. Araloselachus cuspidatus. 12mm. Carcharhinus priscus. 11mm. Sparus cinctus. 7x5mm. Mitsukurina lineata. 21mm. Araloselachus cuspidatus. 25mm. Carcharodon hastalis. 25mm. 10 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
Darktooth
Nice finds Roger! Are you collecting in a stream or right out of the matrix? I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Directly out of the bank. I posted a few photos of the exposure here a while ago, but here's one of them again. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Of course these are midgets in comparison to the ones you find in Antwerp, but they are still "klein aber fein". I decided a while ago to get a Riker Mount to display the best ones, but decided in the end to get one of these new-fangled Floating Frames instead. It turned out that they don't hold properly when they are filled with objects having differing depth and half of them just slipped down to the bottom of the frame after I closed it. At least they stay in place with a bit of sticky putty, but it was a bit of a disappointment. It seems that they are only good for single objects or ones with equal depth. Here it is anyway, still with room for more. 4 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

No, I'm afraid I don't know exactly what could have created these marks, but they appear to be trace marks of some living creature. When they occured (old or recent?) is debateable.
