Kev
I suspect this to be mosasaur. Can anyone confirm and more accurately identify?
Kev
...forgot to mention, the small pieces were found very close to the large piece. Similar to the spacing shown in photos.
Natalie81
Looks like a femur or humerus from a marine reptile, maybe plesiosaur . Interesting are the bite marks
Fossildude19
One of your small "bone" items is actually a section of a baculite. You can tell by the suture lines present. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." val horn
i would have a very hard time separating a mosasaur humerus from the distal of a pleisaur humerus. Can someone give tell me how to tell them apart. particularly proximal head of a mosasour vrs distal head of a pleisaur

Interesting are the bite marks Thank you very much Natalie81! I looked around the internet and it does look more like a plesiosaur than mosasaur now that you point it out. Maybe mosasaur had this guy for lunch. I saw the scratches on the narrow end if that's what you're talking about but didn't even think about it being bite marks. Could the dark area I circled be a bite mark too?

The bite marks are most probably from sharks. About what you marked, I don't think this is a bite mark, a close up could help
