Found several of these while digging a hole for the swimming pool in our house. It was very surprising as I found hundred of them. Can anyone tell it is century old. I took a video of my discovery too.

That's a cowrie shell by the looks of it. Maybe give the location where you found the shells and the more experienced members can tell you how old it is.

You’d have to look at the other side, but it looks like a fossilized shell of the genus Cypraea. There must be a bunch of other little shells with these.

Failed to apply for assessment. The purpose of this forum is to disseminate paleontology to the greatest number of people, and we don't do any evaluation, that isn't its goal.

As for the use of Carcharodon in tags for a fossil that is far from this name, it reminds me of the bad habits of some sellers on our favorite auction site !

welcome to the forum.

Nice fossils.  Can we see another photo (different angle) of the one in your hand (the only photo of your hand where we cannot see the wedding ring).  It is tough to see what the shell looks like.   Yeah, we don't do monetary assessments here.  (see coco's post).
