pefty
Very odd little fossil found today in the Mississippian Warsaw Formation of St Louis County, Missouri, USA. All insights appreciated.
Rockwood
I think it's a trilobite. Or what's left of one.
Huntonia
I don't think it's a trilo, doesn't look to have proper segmentation.
Jackson g
Do you prep? If so blast off some of that calcitic limestone by the "segments" on the left side. Might make ID much easier. Kinda looks crinoidal, hard to tell though. Shape and size don't look like a mississippian trilo pygidium to me though, they tend to be smaller in size. Top Trilo
I've never prepped before but it looks very fragile are you sure it would be best if they tried? “If fossils are not "boggling" your mind then you are simply not doing it right” -Ken (digit) "No fossil is garbage, it´s just not completely preserved” -Franz (FranzBernhard) "With hammer in hand, the open horizon of time, and dear friends by my side, what can we not accomplish together?" -Kane (Kane) "We are in a way conquering time, reuniting members of a long lost family" -Quincy (Opabinia Blues) "I loved reading the trip reports, I loved the sharing, I loved the educational aspect, I loved the humor.
