Good actor, wifey worked with him and liked him, but I never actually met him. The Minotaur myth has been featured in Doctor Who on three other occasions : The nimon. Loved this episode. Lots of filming for new Who was done in Cardiff (where I was born). My father was involved with a number of the episodes as he had to arrange for roads, tunnels and venues to be closed. Also, the Sarah Jane Adventures were recorded around south Glamorgan and in llantwit major, where I grew up. N

I used to meet up with Deborah Watling in Newport too. (Victoria Waterfield, a companion of the second Doctor) The picture above is Debbie Watling, not my mother, just so we're sure. My mother's side of the family are from near Bridgend. Oh, and the Horrors of Nylon (Horns of Nimon) was terrible! 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend. I am terribly sorry that your Santa was someone from the same State, Ralph. I've done that twice this year. Must do better. I thought I'd checked, but clearly when I swapped some around I got confused. Sorry. Hoverer, I do rather like the trilobite and the postcards in particular. Thanks to your Santa. As my "gift" I would like to provide a short history of TFF Secret Santa. TFF Secret Santa began back in 2015, with my friend Raptor Lovers proposal . Due to his busyness with school, I offered to setup the trade. We ended up organizing the first Secret Santa Post together on December 7th. That year there were 17 participants. I believe that due to the late start, the last package did not arrive until February. In 2016 Doren provided a kind reminder to do it again. He made sure we got an early start, and the Second Annual TFF Secret Santa was posted October 22nd, 2016. This time there was around 22 participants from all over the world, thanks to Doren's frequent encouragement for more participants. In 2017 I received a lovely message from Doren titled "Time is creeping up on us" So, I posted yet another TFF Secret Santa was posted October 18th, 2017. There were 26 participants. Due to the even number and a lack of fossils I was unable to participate... but Doren very kindly sent me a surprise package, which I suppose brings us up to 27. Besides being incredibly generous, Doren sent in some golden comedy for us that year Unfortunately after this one I was more or less out of the fossil hobby, so after asking for my blessing (of course you can!) Doren lead the next TFF Secret Santa, and even invited me to participate. The fourth annual TFF Secret Santa was dubbed the 2018 Secret Santa Spectacular!!! on October 8th 2018. There were a whopping 59 participants! The thread was a massive 65 pages. Doren did a spectacular job organizing. He also started the tradition of giving the exchange a neat name each year. After seeing this I knew I had to check up on him again... so in August 2019 as a head start I sent off a message to Doren making sure he was planning to do it again. Of course he was . The 2019 Secret Santa Exchange Festival of Fossils was posted October 13th, being the fifth annual TFF Secret Santa. There were 43 players! Not only was this large, but Doren managed to get every package delivered before Christmas?! He truly kept a list and checked it twice. It is sad that the torch had to be passed on to our organizers this year, as Doren did such an amazing job both as a Secret Santa organizer, and as a member of the community. It would have taken quite a lot of work to participate in the forum without talking to Doren , and why would you want to avoid such a wonderful person?! Despite this, it seems the new organizers are doing tremendous work. Thanks to those that stepped up to the task this year and helped, @Tidgy's Dad, @fifbrindacier, @Darktooth, @sixgill pete, and @Bobby Rico. Oh and Tidgy! Hopefully I didn't miss anyone or misread.. I'm running on fumes. 54 participants is an undertaking! You all are doing an amazing job. That was such a great history bit. Definitely worth reading every letter. I'm so glad such a great group of fossil experts and paleontologists came together to actually spread knowledge about this beautiful science to individuals WORLDWIDE. This year not only did I get a super great secret santa and super great gifts, I also got a great friend out of this event. I will aaaalways always participate in this event. I only participated 2 times but it feels like a great tradition to never miss out on, especially on such a holiday! Btw I finally got the magnifying glass I ordered weeks ago to check on the micro fossil mix my secret santa gave me! And there's much more where that came from!
