Sorry to hear this, Max, but I hope you have a great Christmas anyway. How are the studies going?

I've just had a thought.

Why not call your parents and just tell them to post some of the nice looking stuff from your fossil collection?

That'd work. :D

Thanks Adam, you too!

I moved in a little over two weeks ago, but I just had my first real day today actually. No actual lessons yet as today was more of an introduction day, but I got to meet my tutor (the famous Dr. Mike Benton!) and it was great to get to know him. My flatmates are very friendly and I've befriended many other people too, and even got the chance to already go fossil hunting at the Aust Cliffs once (trip report soon-ish? Gotta acid-prep the finds first). All this has of course been done with respect to the social distancing rules (luckily the virus isn't as bad here as in other parts of the UK, but the number of cases does seem to be rising quickly so I gotta be careful), but so far it's been a lot of fun. And while I may not have access to my fossil collection anymore, I am busier than ever in the paleo-world (and am starting a new, smaller collection here in Bristol) :D

However I don't think I really trust my parents to choose fossils that are both nice enough for the event but that I'm also willing to part with... they can stick to fossil hunting for now :P

I hope all is well with you, your wife and Tidgy in Morocco?

Sounds good, Max, well done.

I lived a few years in Bristol myself and it's not far away from my birthplace. I always loved collecting at Aust, those it's usually freezing and windy.

We're good here, been stuck in Fes under lockdown since March, but we're happy, safe and better off than many in the world at this time.

Only shopping occasionally.

I was living in a small village near Cheddar about 20 miles south of Bristol at the time.

Well i've been inactive for almost 1 year, so I don't know if I can join you, but thank you very much for the wake up call @Bobby Rico .

Anyways it's very cool Adam and co decided to perpetue this tradition. Doren must be delighted and desperately trying to send us his famous Santa Chimps from up there.

Love you all.

Yes, wait .. whut is going on. I don't know half of the time what day it is. Sorry, it's almost Halloween so my two hobbies are colliding in a spectacular fashion. Thanks again to @Tidgy's Dad for setting this up this year. RIP Doren.

So, speaking of Doren, Adam you must be trained for this position.

1) Always check with the user to see if his/her parcel has left

2) Remind User that parcels are due to be sent

3) Remind User again

4) 2 Days later .. ask if parcel has arrived .. and frankly where are the pictures ??

5) Hey, did I mention you need to post photos

6) I have a list. Your name is on it.   It is the "You -insert name here- Have Not Posted Any Pictures List"

hahaha ..... he always sort of changed slightly in personality during this time of year. :smilodon:

PS. And Job ? .. what job. I have Halloween masks to move and fossils to scan. haha ... But I'm in for Christmas !  I hope folks like shark teeth...

Yes, I'll be following the instructions 1 - 6 listed here and a few more.

You think he was a bit pushy on here, you should have seen what he wrote in PMs!
