I moved in a little over two weeks ago, but I just had my first real day today actually. No actual lessons yet as today was more of an introduction day, but I got to meet my tutor (the famous Dr. Mike Benton!) and it was great to get to know him. My flatmates are very friendly and I've befriended many other people too, and even got the chance to already go fossil hunting at the Aust Cliffs once (trip report soon-ish? Gotta acid-prep the finds first). All this has of course been done with respect to the social distancing rules (luckily the virus isn't as bad here as in other parts of the UK, but the number of cases does seem to be rising quickly so I gotta be careful), but so far it's been a lot of fun. And while I may not have access to my fossil collection anymore, I am busier than ever in the paleo-world (and am starting a new, smaller collection here in Bristol) However I don't think I really trust my parents to choose fossils that are both nice enough for the event but that I'm also willing to part with... they can stick to fossil hunting for now I hope all is well with you, your wife and Tidgy in Morocco? 3 Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil.
