William187
Found at the beach Outer Banks North Carolinia. Any help would be appreciated. It appears to be a hollow tooth or portion of a jaw line of some kind. It is 3.25 inches long, 1.75 inches wide, and 1.75 inches tall Edited October 4, 2020 by William187 Adding information

Brett Breakin' Rocks
Hi There, Welcome to the forum ! To my eyes, this could be a portion, or cusp of a Mastodon tooth. (though Gomphotherium is always a possibility) @Harry Pristis@Shellseeker Image Credit: Mastodon_tooth_Mattapoisett_River_Robbins Museum_Massachusetts 3 hours ago, William187 said: Found at the beach Outer Banks North Carolinia. Most of the examples of Tapir I've seen don't go beyond 1.5 inches or so. Cheers, Brett

Shellseeker
Amazing !!!!!! I had my thrill back in May of 2011 (I was a much younger person then...) I always believed mine to be Mastodon rather than Gomph... Coco Yes, I learn something new every day .. and the more of these things you run across the more you fill in the gaps. Pretty cool, all of my mastodon bits apparently were from erupted teeth. Thanks ! Cheers, Brett
