Fossilized seed? Centralia PA 10/10/2020

I found this nice specimen while hunting for 'white fern' plates out in Centralia, PA. Based off of the size, shape and definition, I'm curious if its a seed of some sort? Fern seed seems likely. I can't make out the tri part here though. :headscratch:

Doesn't it refer to a three part symmetry ?
