Burnham on crouch hunt

Notidanodon

Recommended Posts

Hi guys yesterday I went to burnham on crouch in the hopes that storms would have cleared the silt but that wasn’t the case, it was a mudbath^_^ this silt catches on teeth, on scoring then and making it hard to find anything so although I didn’t find much I’ll share what I did with you;) here are some photos of the site, you can see the mud, also for people who want to hunt here in the future I have drawn lines to show where to hunt;)

these fossils all come from the London clay, no teeth except a heterodontus as a result of the mud, there are fish spines and bones, some glypthicus wetherelli crabs and some assorted gastropods

Those high-spired gastropods are very nice, Will!

Thanks monica;) they were some of the highlights, being a bit rounder, they don’t catch the silt so I found a lot of these today with few vertebrate remains whereas normally it would be the other way around
