SharkySarah
I have some Cucullaea gigantea mud impressions with shell fragments still left. These fragments are extremely fragile. Is there anyway to store or preserve them to keep the shell pieces on?
JimB88
you could use Paraloid to stabilize them, but keep in mind it has to be thinned in acetone, which is dangerous. A safer alternative is elmers mixed with water (though that may make them look shinier than normal.)
Mark Kmiecik
I would avoid anything soluble in water. Paraloid in acetone is a good choice. Acetone is not dangerous as long as you follow the precautions stated on the container. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
