I just got this and I am pretty happy. I had hoped to knock this genus off my list.

Have you seen any modern references that place Megascyliorhinus in the Orectolobiformes? I know decades ago some thought it was related to Rhincodon but I can’t find a modern reference that doesn’t place it within the Carcharhiniforms.

I went by Elasmo and Fossilworks but I see what you mean. I looked at a few recent papers and it does seem to be considered Carcharhiniformes. Thank you for the information.

I will photographing more of our Carpet shark teeth tomorrow but for now here is a pretty cool tooth. I am pretty sure nurse shark teeth from BV are Ginglymostoma but if I have this wrong, please let me know. This is probably our prettiest Orectolobiformes tooth. Very colorful.

This is an unidentified Jurassic Orectolobiformes. It’s from the UK, Hartwell Clay. I don’t think it’s Pseudospinax but that’s as far as I’ve gotten with the ID. Still, another Jurassic Carpet Shark is a good tooth to have.

Have not added anything to this thread in a long time. It does not appear as though anybody else has either  lol Our largest Nebrius tooth though incomplete. Still a happy addition.

We found a couple of Cantioscyllium teeth during our Mesaverde searches. I didn’t get good pictures but they are nice teeth.
