Another fish? Tooth? ID question

Apologies but one last fish tooth question from my Saturday hunt in Big Brook. What is it. Is it even A fish tooth?  Just over 1/2 inch long. Thank you

i'm NOT doubting you two but i just don't understand or picture it. can you explain it to me how this is a shark tooth root lobe?  I really do appreciate the free education i get here (and of course, the more i learn, the more i realize i don't know)  Thank you in advance

Hold up the root piece next to a goblin shark tooth until it matches. Now, imagine the piece you are holding broke off from the other root and blade of tooth. The root you have is one of the two root lobes of the goblin tooth.

 

Imagine this part (the part you have) as this:

 

And the tooth from switch it came as this:

now i get it.  i'm shaking my head and saying to myself "duh".  Thank you @Trevor my education, slow as it may be, continues
