Vin
Hi everyone, an interesting fossil was found near Montague NY, most likely Glenerie Formation. Can this be the tail section of a Trilobite? Can anyone help with species ID if possible? Thanks to all that can help
Huntonia
This is indeed a trilobite pygidium, nice find. Looks to be a dalmanitid. I'm not quite sure of the genus as it is rather large. Tentatively I want to say Dalmanites sp. but I could be way off. @piranha @Kane @Fossildude19
Jeffrey P
Looks like a pygidium of Phalangocephalus dentatus, a dalmanitid trilobite. This was probably found in the Port Jervis Limestone which is found near Montague.
Huntonia
Looks like it. Phalangocephalus, that's a new one for me. Fun to say too!
LabRatKing
It’s a pyg for sure. Species? Heck I struggle with Wheeler formation where everything is Elrathia...
