ajgus
I've been combing through some miscellaneous hell creek specimens over the past couple of weeks & have come up stumped on a couple of chunk-o-saurus fossils. I'm wondering if anyone recognizes this bone. Its part of a formed edge, meaning it seems to have a noticeable structure to it. I'm just not sure who it may have belonged to or what part of the skeleton it may be from. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Troodon
I wonder if its an osteoderm. Can you take photos of all the sides and bottom. Straight in photos no obtuse angles

jpc
I am having a hard time seeing this as bone. The broken edges do not look bone-ish at all.

Definitely a bone. The spongy, porous tissue is evidently throughout. It’s part of a cache of fragments of hell creek specimens; perhaps all from the same animal. I posted what may be a partial vertebra in another thread as well. Most are nondescript chunks. This one just seems to have a bit of structure to it, so I’m hoping someone might recognize it?
