fredftw
Found in early Jurassic rocks on the Whitby coast. Lots of ironstone nearby so could be geological? But wanted to check if anyone thought it could be bones! Was too heavy to bring up the cliff. Any help is very appreciated! dhiggi
Certainly could be, Ichthyosaur the most likely if it is. Burrow traces are another possibility, do you have any other pictures? Hopefully @TqB and @LiamL will be along soon with their thoughts
fredftw
Thanks! No, I stupidly didn't think to get any better pics. To my limited knowledge it didn't seem to have the kinda webbed/holey structure that I associate with bones. There were other rocks nearby with similar structures, all long and thin. I can probably go back and find it again if people here think it looks promising.

TqB
I'd say burrows - the end sections clearly show sediment. 2 Tarquin
fredftw
Thanks Tarquin, I think you're right. I agree it didn't have the structure I'd associate with bone. They looked similar to this pic I've found:
Mike from North Queensland
two pair of parallel belemnites or burrows verry odd I would suspect ichthyosaur bone. Take a closer look and see if they are conected and a close look at the other structures in the rock could not hurt. Mike
