Kasia
Hello Everyone, today I went again to my favourite Pleistocene site - and a friend of mine found something that he thinks could be a fossilised wood. He thinks it could have been brought here by the glacier. It looks like this: It's not very big, as you can see - but quite heavy. Does this look like wood to you? I will appreciate your feedback. FranzBernhard
No, it does not look like wood to me. More like small-scale boxwork structure. But I am really not sure of anything in this case. Franz Bernhard

It's half an hour from Warsaw to the south - it's the site where sand from the Vistula River is excavated.
Johannes
Hello Kasia, the look from the sides look look like a piece of a very flat bone to me. I (believe I) can see spongiosa, "embedded" between denser cortex"plates". Could be pleistocene...(?)

Hi, the site is Pleistocene, but the bones I find there look completely different - both in colour as well as texture. It's pure stone. I'm also inclined to think it's just boxwork... abyssunder
Hello, Kasia! I think you have speleogen there. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speleogen 3 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
