Thomas.Dodson
Just a rock here. Recognizing the possibility that what we see isn't actually what is means you're on the right path to recognizing your own pareidolia in the future. The mind likes to see patterns in things, it is normal and you certainly don't "need help".
digit
Yup. Many folks come here with that they think are very interesting rocks. They are often interesting but seldom what they think. Most bristle when we tell them what they are "seeing" is the result of the amazing phenomenon called pareidolia. Glad to see you are already aware of this and have tempered your expectations. We have a topic devoted to all the interesting "fakers" that we've found while out hunting for real fossils. Some of them quite remarkable (but still not what they appear to be). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/90731-pseudofossils-pareidolia-and-other-rorschachery/ Cheers. -Ken
Plantguy
I like it...No you dont need help....our brains are amazing at turning shapes into what we know and dont know...my brain is especially good at taking me in the wrong places lots of times. Here's my baby dinosaur Trex skull with dagger like teeth and arched back bone. Look closely! LOL. Regards, Chris
