Initially, this summer we had planned to spend a week  in the eastern part of France, but despite there was no official lockdown at the time and since the area had been badly strike  by the pandemy, we decided to postpone that trip.

Instead we organised a 4 days trip along the cliffs of Normandy.

The first day we aimed to "Cap de La Hève " near Le Havre. The rocks are from the cenomanian

We didnt find that much, but all in all we still managed to grab a few nice echinoids and brachiopods.

Some samples of the very small Discoides subuculus (1 cm for the biggest) :

A totally sweet Tetragramma variolare :

A complete Cidaris was also found on this day but i dont have a picture.

On day two we headed a bit further north/east: Saint Jouin de Bruneval, still cenomanian cliffs.

On that day we just did great

On day 3, we went still more North / East, following the coastline.

We reached the beach after quite a few steps (150 or so), in Senneville sur Fécamp.

We heading North from there. The cliffs are turonian / coniacian. The rocks mostly yield Micraster and Echinocorys, plus some bivalves and brachiopods.

A nice multiblock with Echinocorys gravesii (x3) and  Micraster decipiens

Last day our goal was  Veulette sur Mer, but once there, all the peebles that usually covered the beach, well, somehow, they were just gone (several metres high had just poofed and they were still there in the winter.). With no peebles to protect it, the cliff just looked pretty unstable so we decided to leave and head for  another spot not far from there.

We made our way to Saint Pierre en Port  - turonian / coniacian also. about same stuff than in Senneville.

A nice Echinocorys multi from that day :

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt
