Guadeloupe River unusual rocks/fossils?

Mary Lynn

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to this forum and need help.  I went arrowhead hunting along the Guadalupe River, Kerr County, Texas. Found a couple of unusual rocks, fossilized clams and some other things.  Are these just plain old rocks or are they bones of some animal?  The 20' high banks were carved out by flooding. There was lots of flint, got two hand axes, one hammer, three scrapers, broken points and lots of chert.

Here's the pics of the two unusual rocks/bones.  Help!

The top one looks like eroded Edwards Limestone, and the second one might be the same (or a chert nodule).

I agree with the others that these are geologic. However I would love to see pictures of the artifacts that you found
