The heck is this?

Some sort of badly damaged arthropod?

Do not know where it was found.

Wavy lined one is around 2 cm in length

Thicker one which looks like a head shield is around 1 cm in diameter and one in a half cm in length

Could be a piece of a trilobite. Not positive, though. Some close-ups would be helpful, please.

Is that from the Platteville, or are you too far east?? I don't recognize the matrix. Part of me wants to say trilobite, part wants to claim brachiopod.

Could it be an Archimedes screw bryozoan?

Not a bad guess. I hadn't thought of that. Sort of like this:

I was thinking the same thing with the 2nd set of pics, but figured I was wrong, so I didn't say anything. :duh2:

It never hurts to throw out an idea, it is either wrong and you learn the right one or your right. Although I should say I still don't know if that is right the first pic doesn't look like it at all and I have no idea for the other item.

Trilobite seems unlikely for the “segmented” portion.

You may wish to remove some of the matrix to reveal more of the fossil.

My guess is partially buried trilobite thoracic segments (maybe the rest of the thorax is under some of the sediment), and looks like an inverted glabella + part of the rest of the cephalon.
