Please help ID this

These were found along the Guadeloupe River in Texas.  I picked up about six of them.  Some help in identifying them would be appreciated.

Scratch it with a metal knife blade. I bet that it will not be scratched. It looks like banded chert.

I agree; this is a classic example of banded chert from the area you found it.
