What is this a fossil or not?

I found this in Piney River in Middle Tennessee. It is approximately 7" long, 3.5" wide and 1.5" high. I have never found anything like it before. Is it a fossil or just a cool rock?

My guess is nautiloid. The reverse side appears to show the siphuncle.

Looks like the area is Mississipian in age if that helps with identification.

It looks like a worn crinoid stem to me.

Similar in appearance, but a 3.5 inches wide of stem would be one monster of a crinoid!

Ive not seen a nautaloid that looks like that from the Mississippian
