tonyfox
Hello I found this at my local beach in Dorset yesterday. I've told my 6-year old that it's a dinosaur bone but my wife is very doubtful. Does anyone have any ideas to back me up? Many thanks
Ludwigia
Sorry, but your son is going to be disappointed. I see no sign of bone substance on this stone, although I'm not at all certain what the circular object might be. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. tonyfox
Thanks for the reply. The photos are both sides of the stone as the circle goes all the way through.

TqB
It's a piece of Cretaceous flint or chert, both occur there. I'm not sure about the hole - it could be related to a sponge or a burrow, or it could just be hole. (I think this stuff is too hard for modern piddock borings.) 1 Tarquin
