So far,, most (at least all my local ones) of my finds here are miocene plants. With an exception of a large block of bird tracks! Sjfriend
@DPS Ammonite Ended up not being able to meet up with anyone for 1st half of trip and the lovely snows kinda buried the area I knew during the 2nd part. So didn't squeeze in an AZ stop. Did hit a spot in CA for trilobites and had fun there.

erose
https://unmpress.com/books/paleontology-new-mexico/9780826341365 Price has gone way up from when I bought mine many moons ago, but this is a great book and has even helped me nail down some Texas identifications. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Kues many years ago at the museum in Albuquerque. Maybe look for used copies.
Opuntia
What an awesome spring and summer it has been in New Mexico. The sun is unforgiving and the rain has been plentiful. My favorite adventures have been prospecting the badlands of the San Juan Basin. The sky goes on forever and the landscape is out of this world. @PFOOLEY and I cant get enough of this beautiful and unique place! Here we look at the Fruitland and Kirtland Formations. Upper Cretaceous Campanian-Maastrichtian I think about this one all the time. . . The lonely tree. . . The petrified tree. . . I am happy to call New Mexico home. Can't wait for the next adventure. . . 1

Opuntia
It has been a year since I joined the forum and am happy to be a part of this community. Thank you to everyone for the knowledge, inspiration and awesome posts of your journeys. Today, @PFOOLEY and the crew went out to the Rio Puerco to hunt the Carlisle member of the Mancos shale. It was a beautiful October day in New Mexico. . . The finds include spathites puercoensis, coilopoceras springeri, prionocyclus hyatti and a bunch of gastropods. Opuntia
Wow, a lot has happened since the last field trip in this thread. @PFOOLEYand I continue our adventures in the Rio Puerco. We've made it a tradition to start our year with some fossils. . . 1-1-24 Looking in the Semilla sandstone. The usual suspects. . . Spathites: Prionocyclus: My first Hoploparia. I was jumping with joy when I found it. I believe only one other has been found in the Semilla.
