Rockwood
I think fish jaw may have gained some momentum. Maybe I'm relying too heavily on an image that was extinct by then though.
jpc
Are these teeth facing into the rock? or just bone cross-section?

Sorry for my english No need to apologise, I may have not been on this forum for a while, but it's already become apparent that this is a very accepting community! Also, that's impressive English, given the fact that it's not your first language! It certainly is interesting, I'll do some looking into your 'mud turtle' ideas... 1 ~ Isaac; www.isaactfm.com "Don't move! This bears some resemblance to a certain skull found in Missouri a while back, but I can’t remember the critter name...one of those primitive “flying sharks”
jpc
Your English is very good. I think you are right. This is quite likely the edge of a piece of soft-shell. In most of the early photos the ridges looked thicker than the valleys, but in the one picture that is from a very low angle, the three dimensional texture looks very soft shelled-ish. Do you find many bones at this site?
