IsaacTheFossilMan
Looks geological to me. ~ Isaac; www.isaactfm.com "Don't move! Earendil
It doesn't appear to be a fossil, I'd say quartz or something along those lines "Its webs of living gauze no more unfurl; Wrecked is the ship of pearl! Ludwigia
Yes, quartz would be a good guess, although it could also be calcite, which would scratch with a penknife. Quartz would not, since it is harder. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

tobi1
it appears to be fossil egg with crystalized something inside but im just guessing at it but interesting none the less

A concretion is what I believe this to be. It is possible that the inclusions are fossils of some sort, but I can't actually identify them as such.
Fossildude19
TOPICS MERGED. It is best to keep topics together when discussing one item. One topic is plenty. It is still a rock, and not an egg. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Plax
I believe Columbia is in the crystaline belt of the piedmont or close to it. I'd google up a geology map of South Carolina to see what you're looking at.
