OregonFossil
As I was working on some old 1080P video (replace with real still image) taken at the Oregon coast, I saw this little guy (either a chiton or isopod I believe) and thought how easy it would be to think it was an eyeless Trilobite. Have you seen any imposters (image, ID)?
Coco
Hi, I confirm it is a recent chiton ! rynxs
Looks like a Mopalia. I'd guess Hind's Chiton, Mopalia hindsii.
Coco
Hi, I am not familiar with American species, but Mopalia hindsii has a very important "mantle" compared to the size of its plates. I’m not sure if it’s this species in the OP picture, you’d have to know its size and see if it had streaks on its plates like this https://eol.org/pages/454955 Coco ---------------------- OUTIL POUR MESURER VOS FOSSILES : ici Ma bibliothèque PDF 1 (Poissons et sélaciens récents & fossiles) : ici Ma bibliothèque PDF 2 (Animaux vivants - sans poissons ni sélaciens) : ici Mâchoires sélaciennes récentes : ici Hétérodontiques et sélaciens : ici Oeufs sélaciens récents : ici Otolithes de poissons récents ! ici Un Greg...
