hemipristis
Any thoughts from our mammal experts on a genus/species of this camel tooth? Size is 6x5 cm Pleistocene from Iowa thanks in advance! 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' George Santayana
PrehistoricWonders
You need to post a pic of the chewing surface if you want a shot at it being correctly IDed.

Harry Pristis
That is the root end of the artiodactyl m3. Not an uncommon error with an unerupted tooth . . . is it unerupted? http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

Shellseeker
Nice large tooth , especially if un_erupted I recently found a Bison lower m3. It is 5 cm wide, but only 3 cm from top of root to chewing surface.
